Requirements
Field Dimensions
- Yellow Wiffle BallⓇ Bats and balls will be provided at the event.
- May bring your own equipment as long as it is a Wiffle BallⓇ Bat.
- Only yellow Wiffle BallⓇ Bats may be used during the event.
- Duct tape is allowed on the bat.
- You may not cut open and/or cork the yellow Wiffle BallⓇ Bat.
- Scuffing balls are not allowed.
- Only Wiffle BallⓇ Inc. perforated plastic baseball sized balls are only allowed.
- Extensions added onto the bat are not allowed.
- Batting gloves may be worn.
- Baseball gloves are not permitted in the field on defense.
- All equipment subject to Jacks’ Wiffle Ball Tournament and Wiffle BallⓇ Inc. approval.
Game Rules
- Only one ball should be on the field at a time.
- Baserunning and unlimited ghost runners
- Pitchers must throw no more than mild-fast speed which is about 40-60 mph.
- Pitchers poison, but pitcher (or other fielder) must have at least one body part in contact with the ground/mound inside the designated circle.
- Pegging (throwing or tagging someone with the ball) is allowed. The runner will be out as long as the runner is hit or tagged out in between two bases and is not on a base.
- Force outs at bases that have ghost runners advancing to them will be determined by the batter running to first base.
- Hits that are hit down into the Not Far Enough area (NFE) is only needed to be picked up by the pitcher or another fielder before the batter advances to first.
- Bunts are allowed, however if the pitcher or another fielder picks up the ball before the batter advances to first base then the batter is out.
- Home runs will be called by if they cross the home run line in fair territory.
- Balls caught by the defense without touching the ground will be considered an out.
- Games will be played with 3 innings and 2 outs per half inning
- Baserunners can be doubled up if a ball is caught in the air without hitting the ground, and then thrown to the base of the runner or to a player at the pitchers mound before the runner retreats back to the base.
- 3 strikes will be considered one out.
- 4 balls will be considered a walk.
- If a batter is hit with the ball while batting, it will be considered one ball.
- No leading, a runner may leave the base once the pitcher has released the ball.
- No stealing.
- Balks will not be called if they occur.
Rosters/Lineups
- Rosters will be comprised of a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 6 players.
- People not signed up for the event may not substitute into the event.
- All players are allowed to bat
- The number of players on the field will be determined by the amount of players on each team playing each other
Brackets
- The tournament will run as a double elimination tournament.
- Teams that lose their first two games will be granted a third consolation game.
- Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third place.
- Tournament will last around 7 hours
Requirements
- Teams need to pay 120 dollars per team to play in the event.
- Teams need to have a minimum of 3 players and no more than 6 players to play in the event.
Field Dimensions
- The home run line is 75 feet away from home plate.
- Strike Zone Width and Height regulation
- Mound to Home distance is 25 feet
- Home to 1st/3rd base is 35 feet
- The field width is 80 feet
- The cheap line is 10-15 feet
